Dietary Nonsense Said By A Doctor
Added 2019-06-17 17:46:38

Last weekend, I had the privilege to be on a panel on diet with a doctor of medicine at a beautiful event dedicated to teaching people about healthy lifestyle I had to notice that the program of the panel was biased towards the doctor of medicine and that I did not get the equal opportunity to answer the questions on the panel.

Because... who am I? Just a certified healthy diet and healthy lifestyle coach versus a doctor of medicine. But let's take into account that the Faculty of Medicine does NOT teach about healthy diet, and what the schools of nutrition and dietetics teach today is outdated with a focus on meaningless nutritional tables and the false belief that people are omnivorous. As for me, I graduated from schools where we exclusively studied diet and the link between diet and health.

On that panel, I did manage to give some explanations, but far from enough. However, I took the opportunity to listen carefully to the doctor's statements. And through this blog post I would like to teach you and encourage you to analyze the content that is offered to you. It was interesting to see the audience just obediently nodding their heads. Of course, it is not people’s fault for having gone through a brainwashing school system that encourages obedient nodding in blocks of 45-50 minutes and discourages any critical thinking.

But let's change it at least a bit by analyzing the following statements.

1) Humans are omnivores.

Nope. Humans are frugivours.

It is a physiology and anatomy of a specific species that determines the optimal diet for the given species. If we look at where all the answers are, that is in nature, we will see that there is a specific diet for every specific species. Species that have the physiology and anatomy of anthropoid primates, eat fruits and young tender vegetables. The ratio of fruit and veggies in a diet depends on the intestinal length. For example, gorillas eat more greens, and chimpanzees and bonobos eat more fruit. Our closest relatives, bonobo monkeys, who share with us about 99.7% of the genes, eat fruit along with tender greens, and they are stronger and healthier than humans. Yes, they will also hunt, but it is when they are defending their territory or for the matter of survival, when they don't have access to their preferred food, which fruit.

People can survive on a variety of different diets, but our optimal diet is a diet of fresh fruits and vegetables, because that is the food that suits our digestive tract.

2) Proper nutrition includes all foods, as all foods contain some nutrients.

This approach lacks the following key elements in understanding:

  • Food is what gives us nutrients, while at the same time does not introduce toxins or leave a toxic metabolic waste in the body.

Fruits and vegetables are foods that give us minimum toxins, the quantity that the self-cleansing systems of our bodies can easily expel, and at the same time these foods give us all the necessary nutrients.

The food we need to process to be even eatable for us, is food that leaves an overload of toxins in the body.

  • Food for a species is what the species can eat in its natural form.

Cooking, seasoning and oiling the food is processing a natural form of a certain matter and thus the cheating of the taste buds. The taste buds are the guards that dictate what is nutritious and what is toxic to the body. When we cheat the taste buds, we cheat the health state of the body.

  • It is only the quantity of nutrients, nutrient proportions and nutrient synergy found in whole natural foods that is beneficial to the body.

In other words, if some food has a high quantity of some nutrients, it does not mean that that particular food is better for us. More is not better in the world of nutrition. We do not need more than what we can get from our natural food, fresh fruits and vegetables.

3) There is a specific diet for every specific disease.

This is such a classical, illogical, non-scientific, medical approach which says: what is toxic for a healthy person, will make a sick person healthy. This approach doesn't make sense as the laws of nature tell us that the conditions needed for maintaining health are the exact same conditions for restoring health.

The truth is that there is a specific diet for a specific species and the body can recognize the introduced matter as either food or a toxic matter. Being in an unhealthy state does not mean that physiology and anatomy have changed. What's more, an unhealthy state just emphasizes the need for following the basic parameter for the selection of food: physiology and anatomy of the specific species.

The disease is nothing else but toxemia, and most of today's "diseases" are nothing but the contamination of the body with food that is not adequate for the human body.

A health promoting diet for humans is a diet of fresh fruits and veggies.

Certainly, there are specific diets that manage and prolong diseases, and thus provide business.

4) Type 2 diabetes is an incurable lifetime condition.

False.

Type 2 diabetes is a symptom of fats being accumulated in the tissues that were not designed to store fats. Type 2 diabetes is a symptom of fat accumulation in the bloodstream and on the insulin receptors on the cells. The cause of this fatty condition is a diet rich in fats. 1, 2 When dietary fats are reduced to minimum, the body's internal fat accumulation disappears and high insulin sensitivity is achieved.
 3

Type 2 diabetes is successfully eliminated with a diet of fresh fruit and vegetables. And that is the exact same diet that is beneficial in type 1 and type 1.5 diabetes. 3

5) Casein from milk is a necessary component in the human diet.

Casein is a milk protein that has been shown in studies to be carcinogenic in the human body. The product of metabolism of casein in a human body reacts with toxins and results in the formation of cancerous calls. 4 This was demonstrated by a renowned scientist Dr. Collin Campbel.

In addition to casein, milk contains lactose, a milk sugar. Some people have a lactose splitting enzyme lactase, and some don't. Lactose in tiself is problmatic to people who lack the enzyme lactase, but it is also problematic to people who have this enzyme. The bodily enzyme lactase splits lactose into glucose and galactose, and galactose accumulates in the body and is toxic to the body. 5

Furthermore, milk and dairy products cause osteoporosis because they leave acidic metabolic ash in the blood which leads to the calcium loss from bones. 6

6) Cellulite is normal.

No, cellulite is a pathology.

It is interesting that the doctor said this, because just before this statement, she gave a nice and correct explaination of how cellulite is the accumulation of toxins in between the fatty cells in the adipose tissue. The accumulation of toxin is only normal in an abnormal, diseased world, but it is by no means a healthy state.

I recently received a compliment-comment on my personal Facebook profile photo saying:
Marina, you're fortunate to have such toned and lean legs.

Thank you for the compliment, but there are no punishments and rewards in nature, there are only consequences. I have been choosing to be on a vegan diet since 2005, and exclusively on a fresh fruit and vegetable diet since 2012, and I have been choosing to exercise daily. So, I just have the consequences of my choices.

My point is: these choices, and consequently the consequences of these choices, are available to everyone. Yes, to you as well! heart

7) Fruit makes people fat.

It is interesting that the doctor came to this statement because prior to this statement, she explained well and correctly how gaining and losing weight come down to the simple math: calories that go into the body vs the calories burnt. I would, however, also correct that explanation in a more precise one: what really counts is the absorbed calories vs the calories burnt calories.

Fresh is a food which is rich in water and soluble fibers, and contains only the addequate amounts of fats, except four types of fruit: coconut, avocado, durian and acai. On contrary, foods rich in fats - meat, milk, eggs, oils, nuts, seeds – are the foods that easily contributes to the absorption of excess calories because fatty food contains little water, little or no fiber, and lots of fat. 1 g of fat contains 2 times more calories than 1 g of sugar. Plus, our bodies burn sugars most efficiently and burn fat the least efficiently.

It is possible to gain weight on fruit, either a healthy weight, or even overweight. But in order to be overweight on fruit, one really has to make an effort to overeat on fruit.

If you want a lean figure, fruits and veggies are your best friends. I highly recommend you to check out my series Big Portions - Lean Body.

8) Life is one, so we shouldn't deprive ourselves of enjoyments like drinking beer and wine.

Alcohol:

  • a cellular killer, which means it destroys the cells that it comes across, including the brain cells,
  • reduces the power of reasoning and thinking,
  • destroys liver,
  • destroys families.

There are so many wonderful ways to enjoy life without the use of psycho-active substances. One of the most beautiful is the celebration of health, celebration of nature's gifts that give us vitality to think sharply and clearly and to move vibrantly. Those are real enjoyments, and not alcohol consumption.

Those were the statements I wanted to draw your attention to and offer explanations.

To wrap up this video through a positive attitude and agreeing, I will say that I completely agreed with two statements by this doctor. The first was that the juices and smoothies are inferior to whole foods. Absolutely correct and true. If you're interested in more explanation, check out my explanatio on why smoothies are not a healthy option. The second statement was that healthy eating was colorful.

Yes! What is more colorful and more vibrant in colors than fruts and vegetables?! Just imagine that exciting sight of ripe fruit on a tree among the green leaves. Doesn't that sight give you excitement and happiness? Cooked food is gray, and thus colors the body in a greyish color. When thinking about a healthy diet, have a picture of colorful plates in vibrant colors of fruits and veggies.

I hope these blog post and video are useful to you. Please share them if you think someone might benefit from them and please leave your thoughts on these statements and my arguments in the comments below.

Keep glowing,
Marina
