Date-Carob Spread

Ingredients:



 

  • zucchinis - quantities optional
  • 500 g/ 18 oz dates (measured without pits)
  • 1 Tbs of raw carob powder
  • 1 cup of filtered or distilled water

Equipment:

  • A knife and cutting board
  • A peeler
  • A mandoline slicer
  • A dehydrator
  • A blender

Preparation:

  • Peel the zucchinis;
  • Slice the zucchinis on the mandoline slicer;
     
  • Place the zucchini slices onto dehydrator trays;
  • Dehydrate the zucchini slices at 48 C/ 118 F for about 3 hours;
  • When weather permits, you can Sun dry the zucchini slices;
     
  • While slice are getting ready, make the spread;
     
  • Remove the pits from the dates;
  • Place the dates, carob and water into the blender;
  • Blend these ingredients into the date-carob spread;
  • Place the spread into a bowl;

  • Remove the zucchini slices from the dehydrator;
  • Spread the dehydrated zucchini slices with the date-carob spread;

  • Enjoy!
